In July of 2018, EDG received additional grant funding from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation to continue environmental education outreach, invasive species removal, and introduction of native plants. Invasive species such as kudzu are periodically removed with the help of partners at Trees Atlanta, community volunteers, and visiting goats.

After almost four years of planning, the PATH Foundation has begun construction of the East Decatur Greenway Trail! The 1.1 mile bicycle/pedestrian trail will provide safe, off-the-road access to the Avondale MARTA station from the trailhead at 890 Columbia Drive.
The work begins today, November 11, at 890 Columbia Drive, the former Speed Trip gas station! Contractors are installing the erosion control measures.
